Perfect beginner set...especially for a tall man. : Prosimmon Golf X9 Tall +1" Mens Graphite & Steel Hybrid Club Set + Bag

I didn't actually buy these clubs, but I borrowed them from a friend of mine who had purchased them for his 2nd home. I used them on a long 18 hole course and was for the most part very pleased. I read another review on these that stated that the drivers were plenty long and that the irons were to short for someone who is 6'6" - I'm 6'5" and the irons were great length in my opinion. Obviously, there is a lot of personal preference that goes into golf clubs, and I do have a tendency to stand over the ball, so I may not notice short irons as much as others.

I would have given this set of clubs 5 stars, but the drivers were just not even comparable to the feel and accuracy of the irons. As a taller guy, I've had tons of problems with long clubs (drivers and woods), and these were no exception to that. I think I'm stuck having to purchase seperate clubs to use as my driver/fairway woods. I have found 2 drivers that I absolutely love, however, they are definitely more pricey. On is the Nike SQ Machspeed Tour Driver - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004FV6BIU/?tag=dogknesurinf-20 - You definitely get what you pay for with this club. It is simply amazing. The other drivers I've had great success with are the Taylor Made R series (specifically the R7) - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VEQN0G/?tag=dogknesurinf-20 - If you're a "power golfer" like myself, swing hard now - figure it out later, then I'd recommend this Prosimmon set of clubs with the stipulation that you'll likely need to replace the drivers/woods.
